CLASS SCHEDULES
The entire curriculum of Golf Illustrated University strives to be comprehensive and offers instruction in every area of the golf game, from the physical elements to the mental. We endorse the “there is something in it for everyone” approach. Classes are offered in multiple-week courses, ranging in length from 2 to 9 weeks. Golf Illustrated University’s “professors” include PGA teaching professionals with years of experience teaching both beginners and current touring pros alike. They are also “gurus” in their individual fields, such as award-winning fitness experts and research and development leaders from some of today’s top golf equipment manufacturers. Golf Illustrated University courses are offered in 10 general academic programs, or “Schools”, based on every important facet of the game, and include a low, mid, or high handicap designation based on the technical level of instruction or information. Note that some courses will fit into multiple handicap categories and that the handicap designation is meant to be a recommendation only and not an absolute. The 10 academic programs are listed below in alphabetical order.

GOLF ILLUSTRATED UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

School Of Advanced Techniques - Once you know the basics of the swing and you’ve tasted lower scores, it’s time to go to the next level. Start playing strategically, shape your shots, learn to control spin and more.

School Of Diagnostics & Cures - Why do you do what you do? Learn what causes your faults and fix them the right way. Slices, hooks, fat shots, topping, skying and more will soon be distant memories.

School Of Driving - Standing on the tee box and looking down the fairway can be an intimidating situation. Everyone is looking for more distance and to consistently keep the ball on his or her own fairway. Increase your accuracy, boost your distance and take the fear out of teeing off.

School Of Equipment Technology - Technology plays almost as crucial a role to a better golf game as your technique. Bigger clubs, longer shafts and better golf balls all make an impact on lower scores. Learn the history of golf equipment and how best to capitalize on advances in new technology to better your game.

School Of Golf Fitness - Staying fit, healthy and flexible is key to having a consistent, repeatable golf swing and to increase your distance. Stop just swinging the club around to warm up and learn the right techniques used by tour pros to gear up for your next round.

School Of Golf Fundamentals - You just bought a new set of clubs, a bag, shoes and golf balls…now what? Learn the basic fundamentals needed for a consistent, repeatable golf swing right from the start to rapidly decrease your learning curve. Also offered is quality review material for golfers who may not be beginners, but may be struggling with their game.

School Of Golf Psychology - There are many things to learn when becoming a master of the mental game. Learn to recover quickly and decisively from bad shots, overcome your emotions and play smarter to avoid those penalty strokes and lower your scores.

School Of Putting - Putting accounts for nearly 30 percent of the strokes you’ll make during a round of golf. Quit 3-putting, learn to read greens and make a more solid stroke with your flat stick.

School Of Rules & Etiquette – Golf is a gentlemen’s game, and as such, proper etiquette has been established and rules must be followed for the integrity of the game. Keep your playing partners honest and truly be the Rules & Etiquette guru of your group to win any debate every time.

School Of The Short Game – When you get to within 100 yards of the green, you have as many options as clubs in your bag. Certain lies call for different clubs and techniques. The right decision can make all the difference between circles and squares on your scorecard. Learn to pitch, chip, flop, sand-save and get up and down consistently from our short game professors.

HANDICAP LEVEL
Golf Illustrated University courses are organized by our individual academic programs, or “Schools”, but we also designate each course based on what handicap level we feel will get the most out of the material. This is meant to serve as a guideline, not an absolute. We understand that there are times when a low-handicap player may be struggling with his game and a refresher course on a fundamental could be the ideal solution. We also understand that there are those high-handicap players who like to take an aggressive approach to their game and may seek information on a more advanced technique. We feel that categorizing our material by both our academic programs and by handicap provides the most efficient means for you, our students, to find the courses that fit your needs best.

GAMETRACKER
