What do you like the most about golf?
I’m a pretty competitive person and I like that golf gets the adrenaline pumping and allows for some friendly competition. Golf is also the perfect sport to bring friends together and meet new people.
Who is your favorite golfer?
Jimmy Demarat because he was as great a personality as he was a golfer. He loved to entertain on and off the green and didn’t seem to care what people thought of his dress, his demeanor, or anything. He just wanted to have a good time and wound up making a career of it. It's rare to be able to do that, and I think that anyone who can is admirable and enviable.
What has golf taught you?
Golf and my career in design have a lot in common. They both have taught me that perfection of any trade only comes through patience. Also, thinking creatively can help you out of most problems in both areas.
What have you learned about yourself through golf?
First of all, it has taught me that I am sometimes too competitive. It’s hard to remember that at the end of the day, winning or losing won’t be life-altering situations for me.
What are you looking to do after school?
I graduated just about a month ago, got married the next day, and am currently working as a graphic designer at a media agency. I love my job and am learning something new every day. After some experience, though, I would love to go back for a Masters of Business and learn what I need to know to start my own firm.
What keeps you busy outside of golf and work?
Setting up house as a newlywed has kept me busy lately. But I am always looking for more time to get involved in my church as well as to practice the guitar and bass. I love singing, and being able to accompany myself makes it even better!
