Who has influenced you the most in golf?

My dad has influenced me the most in golf. He bought me my first set of clubs, took me to all of my lessons, and made it a fun learning experience for me. 

What do you like the most about golf?

What I like most about golf is the silence. Don’t get me wrong I love hearing all the fans cheer their hearts out at Boone Pickens Stadium. But in golf, I like the seriousness of it all. 

Who is your favorite golfer and why?

My favorite golfer is the most recent winner of the Masters, Bubba Watson. What I am most fond of is his work-ethic and his originality. He never received any formal lessons and has been self taught all of his life! Also, I really admire his strong Christian faith. I remember a few years ago after Bubba was selected to the Ryder Cup he was told that his father had passed away, through the loss of his father his faith in God’s plan grew even stronger. 

What have you learned about yourself through golf?

Through golf I have learned that I can be patient and I am very observant. 

Give us a short summary about yourself.

I am a fun and outgoing girl who is very goal oriented and honest. I enjoy being outdoors and being active. When I’m not playing golf or on the driving range, I spend my time with friends playing volleyball or other sports, laying by the pool, and hanging out with my family!

Entries must be submitted by June 1st, 2012 for summer entry contestants, August 1st, 2012 for fall contestants, and November 1st, 2012 for winter contestants. Only 1 entry per person during each calendar year. Multiple entries will disqualify the participant. Fraudulent or false information will also disqualify the entry. Photos must be tasteful and may reflect but not promote a trademarked company or brand. Golf Illustrated reserves the right to reject any photo or entry that goes against its strict policies. Any photo submitted becomes the property of Golf Illustrated and all rights are reserved. Winner will be notified via certified mail of their approval within 30 days of scholarship entry deadline.
